Title | A metabolomic study on the anti-depressive effects of two active components from Chrysanthemum morifolium |
Overall design | The aim of this study was to clarify the role of Chrysanthemum morifolium in ameliorating depression-like behaviour induced by corticosterone. C57BL/6 mice were divided into the following 4 groups (n = 8 in each group): (1) control group, (2) corticosterone group (corticosterone injection at the dose of 20 mg/kg), (3) corticosterone + fluoxetine group (corticosterone injection plus fluoxetine treatment at the dose of 5 mg/kg), and (4) corticosterone + Chrysanthemum morifolium group (corticosterone injection plus Chrysanthemum morifolium treatment at the dose of 3.33 g/kg). Drugs were administered via intragastric once per day once a day for 21 days. |
