Title | Proteomic and metabolomic characterization of amygdala in chronic social defeat stress rats |
Overall design | The aim of this study was to perform a systematic investigation of the molecular changes that occur in the amygdala of the chronic social defeat stress (CSDS) depression model by using a combination of metabolomic and proteomic profiling approaches. Sprague-Dawley rats were divided into the following 2 groups: (1) control group, and (2) CSDS group. The CSDS stress procedure lasted for 3 weeks. Then liquid chromatography mass spectrometry (LC-MS)-based metabolomics and isobaric tags for relative and absolute quantitation-based proteomics were employed to detect metabolomes and proteomes in the amygdala, respectively. Ten rats from the CSDS group and eight rats from the CON group were randomly selected for metabolomics analysis. |
