Title | Alterations of neurotransmitters and related metabolites in the habenula from CUMS-susceptible and -resilient rats |
Overall design | In this study, chronic unpredictable mild stress (CUMS) model was established in rats, susceptible group and resilient group were distinguished according to depressive-like behaviors. Sprague-Dawley rats were divided into the following 3 groups: (1) control group, (2) CUMS susceptible group, and (3) CUMS resilient group. The CUMS stress procedure lasted for 4 weeks. Multiple neurotransmitters and related metabolites in three metabolic pathways were determined by liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry analysis, including tryptophanic pathway, GABAergic pathway and catecholaminergic pathway. Six habenula samples per group were used for metabonomic analysis. |
