Title

Metabolomic biosignature differentiates melancholic depressive patients from healthy controls

Overall design

In this study, a metabolomics method was applied to compare the plasma metabolomic biosignature from depressive patients (n = 90), including melancholic depressed patients (n = 21) and anxious depressed patients (n = 58), with healthy controls (n = 97). Metabolic profiling based on Gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS) and Liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry (LC-MS/MS) was performed to investigate the metabolic changes between these groups. Data from melancholic depressed group (n = 21) vs. control group (n = 97) were reported.
