Title | Diterpene ginkgolides exert an antidepressant effect through the NT3-TrkA and Ras-MAPK pathways |
Overall design | In this study, depression-related behavioral tests were used to evaluate the antidepressant-like effect of diterpene ginkgolides on rats. Sprague-Dawley rats were divided into the following 2 groups (n = 15 in each group): (1) control group (vehicle injection), and (2) diterpene ginkgolides group (diterpene ginkgolides meglumine injection treatment at the dose of 5.4 mg/kg for 4 weeks). The non-targeted metabolomics approach, based on gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS), was used to obtain total metabolic data for the hippocampus and prefrontal cortex. |
