Title

Metabolomic markers of antepartum depression and suicidal ideation

Overall design

The aim of this study was to examine the metabolomic profile of antepartum depression and suicidal ideation during mid-pregnancy, a time of high susceptibility to mood disorders. Fasting blood were collected from 100 pregnant Peruvian women. Patients were divided into antepartum depression group (Patient Health Questionnaire-9 >=10, n = 29) and control group (no antepartum depression, Patient Health Questionnaire-9 < 10, n = 71). A total of 307 plasma metabolites were profiled using liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry.
