Title

Metabolite-related antidepressant action of diterpene ginkgolides in the prefrontal cortex

Overall design

In this study, we used chromatography-mass spectrometry-based (GC-MS) metabolomics to examine the metabolite changes induced by diterpene ginkgolides (DG) in the prefrontal cortex (PFC) of mice. Mice were divided into the following 3 groups: (1) control group (n = 9), (2) DG group (diterpene ginkgolides treatment at the dose of 12.18 mg/kg; n = 11), and (3) venlafaxine group (venlafaxine treatment at the dose of 16 mg/kg; n = 11). Drugs were administered injected intraperitoneally daily for 2 weeks.
