Title | [Metabonomics study on antidepressant effect of Banxia-houpo decoction] |
Overall design | Partial Least Squares analysis methods were used to characterize rat urine obtained after chromic exposure Banxia-Houpo decoction. A LC-MS-based urinary metabolomics method was applied to evaluate the efficacy of Banxia-Houpo decoction (BH) on rat model of chronic restraint stress (CRS). Rats were divided into 3 groups (n = 5 in each group): (1) control group, (2) CRS group (restraint stress for 6 hours daily), (3) CRS + BH group (restraint stress plus Banxia-Houpo decoction at the dose of 6.32 g/kg). The CRS stress procedure lasted for 24 days, and drugs were administered by gastric intubation every other day during the model building period. |
