Title | Profiling GABA(A) receptor subunit expression in the hippocampus of PMDD rat models based on TCM theories |
Overall design | The aim of this study was to explore patterns of hippocampal GABAAR subunit expression in rat models of premenstrual dysphoric disorder liver-qi depression syndrome. Female Wistar rats were divided into the following 2 groups: (1) control group, and (2) premenstrual dysphoric disorder liver-qi depression syndrome model group. Rats in the model group were subjected to ovariectomy, and allowed to recover for 1 to 2 weeks. Then rats were restrained for 8 days (6 h per day). Ultra-high performance liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry analysis was performed to determine gamma-aminobutyric acid and glutamate levels in the hippocampus. |
