Overall design | The aim of this study was to identify peripheral biomarkers for major depressive disorder (MDD) and bipolar depression (BPD). Age-matched female individuals with MDD (MDD group, n = 28), BPD (BPD group, n = 22) and healthy controls (control group, n = 25) were enrolled. Plasma samples were analyzed by comprehensive lipid profiling based on liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry (LC/MS). |
