Title

Metabolomics analysis of the prefrontal cortex in a rat chronic unpredictable mild stress model of depression

Overall design

The aim of this study was to explore the pathophysiology of the prefrontal cortex (PFC) in a chronic unpredictable mild stress (CUMS) model of depression. Sprague-Dawley rats were divided into the following 2 groups (n = 9 in each group): (1) control group, and (2) CUMS group. The CUMS stress procedure lasted for 4 weeks. High-performance liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry was applied to test metabolites in rat PFC.
