Title | Alteration of glycerophospholipid metabolism in hippocampus of post-stroke depression rats |
Overall design | The aim of this study was to find out whether the lipid metabolism in the hippocampus is involved in the pathogenesis of post-stroke depression. For the post-stroke depression model, a focal cerebral ischemia and reperfusion rat model was established by transient middle cerebral artery occlusion, then rats were exposed to chronic unpredictable mild stress (CUMS) for 4 weeks. Sprague-Dawley rats were divided into the following 3 groups: (1) control group (sham operation, no stress), (2) stroke group (transient middle cerebral artery occlusion, no stress), and (3) stroke + CUMS group (transient middle cerebral artery occlusion, with four-week stress). Six hippocampal samples per group were used for LC-MS-based metabonomic analysis. |
