Title

Discovery of biomarkers for depressed patients and evaluation of Xiaoyaosan efficacy based on liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry

Overall design

In this study, the authors analyzed the plasma of healthy subjects and depressed subjects before and after the treatment with Xiaoyaosan through LC-MS to discover, screen and evaluate the biomarkers for depression. The plasma profiling of depressed patients (depression group, n = 32) before and after 8-week treatment with Xiaoyaosan as well as healthy controls (control group, n = 32) were analyzed through liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry (LC-MS).
