Title

Chronic stress in a rat model of depression disturbs the glutamine-glutamate-GABA cycle in the striatum, hippocampus, and cerebellum

Overall design

In this study, a gas chromatography-mass spectrometer (GC/MS)-based metabolomic analysis was performed in the striatum of depressed rats induced by chronic unpredictable mild stress (CUMS). Sprague-Dawley rats were divided into the following 2 groups: (1) control group, and (2) CUMS group. The CUMS stress procedure lasted for 4 weeks. Eight samples per group were used for metabonomic analysis.
