Title

Chronic paradoxical sleep deprivation-induced depression-like behavior, energy metabolism and microbial changes in rats

Overall design

The aim of this study was to examine the relationship between the microbiota and chronic paradoxical sleep deprivation (PSD)-induced behavioral and metabolic changes. Wistar rats were divided into the following 2 groups (n = 10 in each group): (1) control group, and (2) sleep deprivation group (seven days paradoxical sleep deprivation group). 7d-PSD rats displayed depression-like behavior. GC-MS based urine metabolomics was applied to estimate the influences of chronic PSD on host metabolism.
