Title

Rostral anterior cingulate glutamine/glutamate disbalance in major depressive disorder depends on symptom severity

Overall design

In this study, major depressive disorder patients (MDD group, n = 32) and control subjects (control group, n = 32) were compared for pregenual anterior cingulate cortex levels of glutamine / glutamate, glutamine / total creatine (tCr), glutamate / tCr, and gamma-aminobutyric acid / tCr as determined by high-field magnetic resonance spectroscopy.
