Title

Proton magnetic resonance spectroscopic imaging in pediatric major depression

Overall design

In this study, choline compounds, Nacetylaspartate, and creatine/phosphocreatine were measured in left and right dorsolateral prefrontal cortex (DLPFC) using a multislice proton magnetic resonance spectroscopic imaging sequence with validated phantom replacement methodology in treatment-naive MDD patients (depression group, n = 11), 10-16 years of age, and case-matched healthy control subjects (control group, n = 11). Both mean absolute levels and mean ratios of metabolite to total creatine levels were compared.
