Title | A simple LC-MS/MS method for the determination of cortisol, cortisone and tetrahydro-metabolites in human urine: assay development, validation and application in depression patients |
Overall design | To better understand depression a LC-MS/MS method for simultaneous determination of cortisol (F), cortisone (E), tetrahydrocortisol (THF), allo-tetrahydrocortisol (5alpha-THF) and tetrahydrocortisone (THE) in human urine has been developed and validated. The nocturnal urine concentrations of F, E and tetrahydro-metabolites in apparently healthy male adult volunteers (control group, n = 12) and drug-free male patients with a diagnosis of depression (depressed group, n = 12) were analyzed. |
