Title | [Antidepressant-like active fraction of Xiaoyaosan by metabonomics based [1H] NMR spectroscopy] |
Overall design | The aim of this study was to identify the active fraction of Xiaoyaosan in producing antidepressant effect by applying 1H NMR spectroscopy based metabonomic approach. Plasma metabolomics were analyzed. Rats were divided into 7 groups (n = 6 in each group): (1) control group, (2) CUMS group, (3) CUMS + XY-A group (stress plus XY-A treatment at the dose of 0.24 g/kg), (4) CUMS + XY-B group (stress plus XY-B treatment at the dose of 0.92 g/kg), (5) CUMS + XY-C group (stress plus XY-C treatment at the dose of 0.18 g/kg), (6) CUMS + XY-D group (stress plus XY-D treatment at the dose of 0.23 g/kg), and (7) CUMS + XY-E group (stress plus XY-E treatment at the dose of 2.44 g/kg). The CUMS stress procedure lasted for 3 weeks, and drugs were administered by gastric intubation one time each day during the model building period. |
