Overall design

The aim of this study was to identify potential differentially expressed metabolites in the serum of first-episode major depressive disorder (MDD) patients via metabolomics profiling. In this study, 41 first-episode MDD patients (MDD group) and 49 sex-matched healthy controls (control group) were selected and included. Serum samples were used for GC-MS-based metabonomic analysis.
