Overall design | The aims of the current study were to compare the plasma levels of 38 acylcarnitines in patients with a current major depressive episode and healthy controls, and to assess their changes after antidepressant treatment. Metabolomic profiles of 38 plasma short-, medium-, and long-chain acylcarnitines were performed by liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry in 893 healthy controls (control group) and 460 depressed patients (depression group) before and after 6 months of antidepressant treatment. |
