Title

Effects of ketamine on metabolomics of serum and urine in cynomolgus macaques (macaca fascicularis)

Overall design

In this study, a NMR-based metabolomics approach based on nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy and pertinent multivariate data analyses was used to evaluate the effect of ketamine on metabolic markers in cynomolgus macaques. Healthy adult male cynomolgus macaques were divided into 2 groups (n = 6 in each group): (1) control group (single intramuscular dose of saline 0.2 mL), (2) ketamine group (single intramuscular dose of ketamine 10 mg/kg). Six sample per group were used for metabonomic analysis. Serum samples 24 h after treatment and urine samples were collected for 24 h from macaques.
