Title | Peripheral blood mononuclear cell-based metabolomic profiling of a chronic unpredictable mild stress rat model of depression |
Overall design | In this study, PBMCs were obtained from a chronic unpredictable mild stress (CUMS) rodent model of depression. A gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS) metabolomic approach coupled with principal component analysis (PCA) and open partial least-squares discriminant analysis (OPLS-DA) statistical analysis was used to detect differential metabolites in PBMCs of depressed rats. Rats were divided into 2 groups: (1) control group and (2) CUMS group. Nine samples per group were used for metabonomic analysis. The CUMS stress procedure lasted for 4 weeks. |
