Title | The potential biomarker panels for identification of major depressive disorder (MDD) patients with and without early life stress (ELS) by metabonomic analysis |
Overall design | The aim of this study was to screen the diagnostic biomarker panels from the plasma of major depressive disorder (MDD) patients with and without early life stress (ELS) experience using metabonomic techniques. Plasma samples were collected from healthy adults (control group, n = 25) and patients with MDD (MDD group), including patients with ELS (ELS/MDD group, n = 23) and patients without ELS (non-ELS/MDD group, n = 23). Furthermore, gas chromatography/mass spectrometry (GC/MS) coupled with multivariate statistical analysis was used to identify the differences in global plasma metabolites among the 3 groups. |
